with a wind rate of 98% between middle of July until January, Preá is one of the Windiest Kitesurfing spots worldwide. The sandy beach of Preá is 25 km long and offers not only more than enough space for wind and Kitesurfers but also the perfect launching and landing area right in front of the center. Although the avarege wind speed is around 25 knots., the spot is also suited for Kitesurf beginners and for people that want to improve them skills. As we offer in Preá Private course, semi-Private course and downwinder from Preá to Jericoacoara in the end of the day, a fast progress is garanteed.

Wind Direction

The wind blows side-on-shore with an avarage wind speed of around 25 knots, almost every single day. In the early mornings the wind often comes side-off-shore but 11:am it turns to side-on-shore from the right, but from August on the wind changes direction around 9:30. In the low tide time you get flat water conditions, with high tide you have to shake more the body and face the choppy water, better for downwind session.

WHAT IS KITESURF?

Kitesurfing is a mix of windsurf with ski, wakeboard, surf,Free Flight that sliding over the water on a board, pulled by the kite, which acts as a wing driven by wind.

Kitesurfing equipment:

2 - Lines of flight measure from 20 to 30 meters;
3 - Control Bar Used to control the direction of the kite;
4 - Windsurfing Several styles are used: type surfboard with straps for the feet, wakeboard, surfboard-way (goes both ways).
