PREA BEACH

Prea beach is located 12 km east of Jericoacoara in northeastern Brazil. Authentic village fishermen off the coast of Ceará, became internationally famous for its strong wind. Prea is today one of the best SPOTs the world of kitesurfing.

Prea in recent years  became a true international destination, and now no longer lives only in the popularity of Jericoacoara. Prea's winds are even stronger than Jeri, attracting many foreigners at any time of year for kitesurfing. Still pristine and rustic, Praia do Prea is located in Cruz, a few miles of Jericoacoara, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Prea is fascinating for all its natural aspects typical Northeast, where life is pure and simple, in close contact with a strong nature. Most of the local population still lives fishing and agriculture. Tourists can now watch the fishermen working on the beach with nets and boats in the same way they were doing 100 years ago. The village is still very Indian, but it provides some Pousadas high-standard hotels that offer a variety of services for international tourism.

Prea is surrounded by huge white sand and crystal clear lakes formed by the tropical climate of the region. The beach is extended for kilometers making the border with the EPA (environmental protection area) of Jericoacoara, which is now a National Park which is on the beach Preá about 33% of its territory. In the morning the wind blow around 18-22 knots and in the afternoon can blow up a bit more, perfect conditions for beginners and people that want to improve, making  Prea village one of the favorite destination around the world for kiteboarding.
